Tom Clancy, critically acclaimed author has passed away while in a Baltimore hospital at age 66. While he is best known for his numerous books set in a world of cloak-and-dagger espionage, many will recognise it as the name put on numerous Ubisoft games.
During his lifetime, Clancy lent his name to the Splinter Cell, Rainbox Six, Ghost Recon, and the upcoming Tom Clancy’s The Division. While he may not have had much to do with the games development, Clancy endorsed the titles for their tone and subject matter. He was also a co-founder for Red Storm Entertainment, now known as Ubisoft Red Storm, who handled many of the games bearing his name.
What do you think? Have you played many of the games bearing Clancy’s name, or have you read any of his books? Let us know what you think in the comments.
