DICE have released details of seven gaming modes that will be included in Battlefield 4 through their blog site.
The seven gaming modes are all playable across the ten maps, with zoning changes and flag layouts adapting to your chosen play mode.
Here is a quick break-down of the modes.
Conquest (Playable in the Battlefield 4 Beta)
- – Classic Battlefield mode: All out vehicle warfare mixed with infantry action over land, sea and air.
- – Designed for 24 players if using Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3/ 64 players if using Xbox One, PS4 or on PC.
- – Capture the flag, eliminate enemies and bring down the enemy’s ticket count to zero.
Domination (Playable in the Battlefield 4 Beta)
- – Fast-paced infantry variant of Conquest.
- – Designed for 20 players over all platforms.
- – No Commander mode.
- – Infantry only game mode taking elements from Battlefield 3: Close Quarters and using Conquest’s capture the flag focus.
Obliteration
- – Use vehicles or go on foot to deliver explosives.
- – Designed for 24 players on the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3/ 32 on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or PC.
- – Optional Commander mode.
- – A bomb spawns at a random location on the map. You must help you team fight to pick up the bomb and drop it off at one of the opponents three objectives, arm it and destroy the objective.
Defuse
- – Competitive close-quarters combat.
- – Designed as 5 vs. 5 over all platforms.
- – No Commander mode.
- – Each player has only one life. Your team must eliminate the enemy or detonate a military objective that they own.
Team Deathmatch
- – Classic shooter mode.
- – Designed for 20 players across all platforms.
- – No Commander mode.
- – Two teams in a face-off combat with the first team to reach a designated number of kills winning.
Rush
- – Fight your way into enemy territory and detonate their M-COM stations.
- – Designed for 24 players on the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3/ 32 players using the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or PC.
- – Optional Commander mode.
- – A struggle between Attackers and Defenders. The Attackers must detonate the enemies M-COM stations whilst the Defenders must stop them from doing so.
Squad Deathmatch
- – Four ground squads with limited vehicle access must race to the top of the leaderboard.
- – Designed for 20 players across all platforms.
- – No Commander mode.
