CCP Games, the creators of Eve Online, have today announced that the latest expansion to the game is coming November 19th, 2013. Entitled Rubicon, the expansion will continue where Odyssey left off, and will be the 20th free expansion for the game since the series launched 10 years ago in 2003. Rubicon allows players to wage guerilla-style warfare, and new quick-strike options.
The expansion boasts new exploration content and new faction ships for you sail the cosmos with. There will also be balance changes to the Marauder, Electronic Attack Frigate, Interceptor and Interdictor class hulls. Rubicon is also taking steps to ensure that new players are eased into the overwhelming depth of the game, using “new certificate and ship identification systems”.
Andie Nordgren, Senior Producer of Eve Online, also teased what was in store for the future of the game, starting with Rubicon.
“With Rubicon we are beginning an ambitious journey for the next several expansions of EVE that will end up with players taking control of the most potent technologies in the universe and controlling space on an unprecedented scale. Their insatiable desire for impact and adventure fuels both this vision and our passion for making the largest science fiction game universe.”
