Over the last year, Kojima has been teasing fans with a lot misdirection over where the latest Metal Gear Solid title will go and what it will truly be like in design. Yesterday Kojima has confirmed that previous two teaser projects, “Ground Zeroes” and, “The Phantom Pain” will blend together to form the overall new title with, “The Phantom Pain” being the main influence over development.
Metal Gear Solid V is planned to complete the story arc by being a prequel for the original Metal Gear title and will implement this open world game-play structure for the first time in the series to maximize gameplay.
The latest title is intended to be much more cohesive yet the player will be able to play any level in any sequence they desire. Futhermore Kojima confirmed that the title will implement the weapon development system found in, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker which would be managed through Big Boss’s personal smartphone. A new day and night cycle is also to be integrated within the game with stealth becoming more easy to utilize at night and guards will cycle shifts according to the hours in a day.
The latest trailer, displayed below also reveals that fan-hero David Hayter, voice talent for Snake has been replaced by Kiefer Sutherland from the TV series 24. Check out the trailer for some of the latest details on the game.
Metal Gear Solid V is set for release on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles.
