Gran Turismo 6 Will Most Likely Need An Audio Patch Post-Release

 Today Gran Turismo series creator Kazunori Yamauchi hopes to improve the audio for Gran Turismo 6 post launch, but admits it cannot be improved for release. 

Many have often complained that the weak and quiet engine noises found in the Gran Turismo series do not match up either the speed of races within the game or even against it’s competitors such as Forza Motorsport or the DiRT series.
Yamauchi concludes that a patch must come to alter this constant issue following the December release. 

“I think I mentioned this in the past, but we’re really working to change the fundamental way the engine sound works. Right now I have a feeling that it might not make it for day one for GT6. There’s a good possibility that we might to do this. For Gran Turismo 5 to Gran Turismo 6 there’ll be no real transfer of data. The main reason for that is the GT5 save data has been cracked already, so we can’t really confirm the validity of the save data.”


This means that much of what will be done in Gran Turismo 6 is entirely original, such as the introduction of the new physics modeling system which is also aimed to be improved on over time following the main launch. There are plans for a day/night cycle feature to more tracks outside of the Spa, Nurburgring and Le mans tracks. 

Yamauchi has claimed, 

“Unfortunately it’s not for all the tracks that a day/night cycle will be implemented. Obviously we want to include day/night racing for all tracks, but that won’t make it for day one. For the day one, all the tracks that are known for 24 hour races…will be made available for day/night racing.”

It is saddening to realize that many of GT6’s interesting and improved features will not be seen straight at launch but it is clear that Yamauchi intends for many add-ons to be implemented over time.
