“Share your Steam library of games with close friends & family”
Soon to be released as a limited beta, Steam Family Sharing will allow close friends and family members to play each other’s games. You will be able to earn your own Steam achievements and save your own game separately via the Steam cloud.
Anna Sweet of Valve explained:
“Our customers have expressed a desire to share their digital games among friends and family members, just as current retail games, books, DVDs, and other physical media can be shared. Family Sharing was created in direct response to these user requests.”
To be able to play the game, all you need to do is send a request for the family member to authorize the computer, which then allows their Steam library to become available for download and play.
The features will become available from next week.
