Release Date for Xbox One Announced

Microsoft have announced that November 22nd shall be the date set aside for the Xbox One’s release. This place’s Microsoft’s console to be released a week before PlayStation 4 in Europe (29th November) but a week after in the US (15th November). November 22nd will see the Xbox One release in the following 13 countries; Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, the US and the UK.

“We hit an important milestone as we began full production of the Xbox One console recently,” said Yusef Mehdi, Xbox’s Chief Marketing Officer.

“The culmination of many years of listening to you, our fans, developing innovative technology, and partnering with the best game and entertainment partners in the industry has brought us to this point. There is still a lot more work to do, but the teams are making excellent progress and are focused on launch.”

“We are humbled and gratified by the tremendous interest in Xbox One from game fans everywhere. We sold out of our pre-order supply faster than at any other time in our history and we are on path to have the biggest launch of an Xbox ever. We look forward to celebrating with millions and millions of gamers this holiday.”

The Xbox One will launch 8 years after Xbox 360’s US launch, to the day. To celebrate this, Microsoft have allocated an extra number of Day One edition Xbox One’s to retailers. This news comes the same day as news of the Xbox One getting a second spec boost.
