Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare is Multiplayer Only

EA Canada’s shooter version of the popular Plants Vs Zombies franchise will be multiplayer only. Powered by the powerful Frostbite engine and supporting 24 players with 4 player co-op the games multiplayer gameplay is shaping up nicely. This installment in the popular franchise shall be the most expensive PopCap title though as they plan to release it at $39.99 as both a retail and downloadable title for Xbox One.

Whilst talking to website Shack News Creative Director Justin Wiebe stated that Garden Warfare will be “relatively inexpensive when compared to other games on the platform.”

Continuing Wiebe went on to state that “PopCap’s had really good success around lower to mid-tier priced games,”. The Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game are planned to be sold at a discount in comparison to Xbox One however, with the planned price of $29.99. This reduced price could be to compensate for the exclusive Boss Mode content coming to the Xbox One version. It will also be because of EA’s plans to continue support of Garden Warfare with DLC.

“We definitely want to build on the game once it’s launched,” Wiebe continued. “We’re definitely taking a cue from Plants vs Zombies 2. Using DLC and new content updates, we want to keep players engaged in the long haul.”
