Iranian League of Legends Tournaments ban female characters

An Iranian League of Legends tournament has banned a good collection of the female characters from the game as their outfits are considered non-compliant with with Iranian customs. The champions which have been banned so far are:

Ahri, Akali, Ashe, Caitlyn, Cassiopia, Diana, Elise, Evelyn, Fiora, Irelia, Janna, Karma, Katarina, Kayle, Leblanc, Leona, Lissandra, Lulu, Lux, Miss Fortune, Morgana, Nami, Nidalee, Oriana, Quinn, Riven, Sejuani, Shyvana, Sivir, Sona, Soraka, Syndra, Tristana, Vayne, Vi, and Zyra.

This could prove a huge problem to a lot of teams who are entering the Iranian tournament, and it could be getting even worse for them. These girls are still under consideration and may escape get the chop:

Diana, Fiora, Karma (only traditional skin), Kayle, Leona, Lissandra, Lulu, Lux, Nami, Quinn, Sejuani, Tristana, and Vayne.

WCG Iran event coordinator Reza Babaei, told Kotaku event organizers have been in talks with the Iranian government for two months. The government agreed to allow a tournament of LoL, a game that, according to Babei, is “banned” in Iran, but only under certain conditions.

What do you think of this story? Is it a sexist move or are Iran within their rights to ban these champions? Let us know in the comments below.
