Etrian Odyssey Untold have published a new trailer that introduces the series-first storyline. The trailer depicts their newest asset, Millennium Girl. You must uncover the truth behind the labyrinth, with the choice between playing in Story mode or Classic mode.
Story mode is where you encounter a maiden, who has lived thousands of years and is shrouded in mystery. Millennium Girl. Classic mode takes you into the original Etrian Odyssey adventure, which had been wonderfully upgraded. Along with this newest trailer we have a peek at your newest FOES (Formido Oppunatura Exsequens) a special class of enemy which appears visibly within the dungeon, unlike the other random encounters.
On the map, FOES will appear as orbs and have their own unique identities and their own behavioural and movement patterns. First up we have…
Furyhorns:
This will be the first FOE you meet, so is more forgiving than the rest. It moves back and forth on a preset line and won’t chase you if you stray into him.
Giant Moas:
A flightless bird which requires much more caution than Furyhorns. They generally stay still and spend a couple of moves faced in the same direction before turning. These will chase you if you come into their line of sight, where you must retreat and wait for the bird to return to its perch.
Boulder Boars:
These hide in plain sight disguised as piles of rocks. You’re best avoiding them completely, if they rear up be sure to move away.
Jungle Killers:
These FOES are particularly nasty and often won’t show up until you’re a few spaces away. You must blend into the environment and let it run past you and your party, or retrace your steps until it loses interest.
Reaping Shades:
The final FOE will appear in open spaces. They’ll hone in on you as soon as you enter its territory. The only way to get past is to wait for the gap in its movement, it takes two steps for every three of yours.
