Twitch Is Coming To PS4

Announced at Gamescom yesterday during Sony’s media conference, the live-streaming video games broadcasting and spectating platform is coming to the PS4. It’s unclear if the free app – which will let users broadcast to the service directly from their PS4s – will be available at the launch of the console just yet. The DualShock 4 controller’s handy share button will allow players to start streaming, as well perform a number of content-sharing tasks.

Live streaming was announced for the PS4 back in February during the console’s initial reveal, but it was not using the Twitch.tv platform. At E3, Microsoft announced it was bringing Twitch streaming services to the Xbox One, so yesterday came as quite a shock when Sony revealed it was also working with Twitch, and the partnership now means that every next-gen console owner can potentially broadcast to the ever-growing platform.
