Red Barrels today revealed that, now that their pant-soilingly scary first-person survival horror game Outlast is now possible to pre-order on Steam,  they’re letting those who pre-order have a 20% discount.

Outlast was revealed in October 2012 with an initial trailer that still scares anyone who watches it half to death. The game casts players as independent journalist Miles Upshur, who breaks into the long-abandoned Mount Massive Asylum to investigate the shady goings on there thanks to its new corporate owners.

From there, Upshur is armed only with the dying battery in his night-vision camera and will have to fend for himself as he is pursued by all manner of nightmarish creatures. This is of course, assuming the player hasn’t already run away screaming at this point.

Outlast will also be given a special panel at PAX Prime, featuring one of the developers, David Chateauneuf. Entitled “Are you Afraid? A Guide to Survival Horror,” the panel will go over the game’s survival aspects.
