Space Hulk is a brand new turn-based strategy game from the developers over at Full Control ApS based in Copenhagen. It is based on the best-selling board game and set within the universe of Warhammer 40,000. Due for a scheduled release on August 15th 2013, this will mark the first time in 17 years that the Space Hulk franchise has been available in video game form.
With preorders opened up on Steam now, there are a couple of incentives for you to buy ahead of time. To be exact there are 2, both of which being limited edition DLC exclusives; a personal banner pole for multiplayer and a Genestealer skin for single player.
“We’ve been sweating away on Space Hulk for several months and are excited to finally unleash our take of this classic, iconic franchise, that perfectly recreates the classic claustrophobic board game experience for single and multiplayer play”, said Thomas Hentschel Lund, CEO of Full Control. “As enormous fans of the franchise, we know that this game will drive home with the players and are excited to finally let battle commence”.
Space Hulk features both single and multiplayer modes with the single player campaign focusing on the Sin of Damnation campaign from within the lore of the board game. The multiplayer aims to recreate the board game experience against a friend. More than that, with release further down the line of an iOS port in the works, the developers hope to be able to allow players to battle their iOS friends from their PC or Mac.
