Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles announced by Activision

Activision has announced a new Ninja Turtles game based on the kid-friendly Nickelodeon animated series, releasing later this year for Nintendo Wii, 3DS and Xbox 360. Simply titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the game is a side-scroller-beat’em up which boasts local drop-in and drop out co-op so you can play with your buddies, and will also allow players to upgrade their characters in some way.  The game looks to be a more colorful, for-children answer to TMNT: Out of the Shadows, which is a gritter-looking Turtles beat-em up releasing this summer on Xbox Live Arcade.  The game is actually canonical to the current Ninja Turtles series – taking place between Seasons 1 and 2 of the show. As of yet however, there is no mention of pizza.

The game will also feature “multiple gameplay modes” -here’s hoping for a versus battle mode. Raphael, Donatello, Leonardo and Michelangelo will be slicing their way onto consoles later this year. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
