The above video goes over the dev team’s nostalgia for the original title (which is shared by me), as well as a few glimpses of the brand new soundtrack created for the game. The letters in the library are back, as well as the first video footage of the Candy-land stage as well as concept art of the dragon boss we fought there over 20 years ago.
Also of note is the use of the original 16-bit soundtrack and embellishing it with an orchestral sound. Perhaps controversially, Mickey will speak in the game as a fully-voice-acted character. Castle of Illusion is still (unfortunately) without a solid release date, with “This summer” as the only descriptor, and will release on PS3, Xbox 360, and as a download on Steam.
