Microsoft Confirms Play-During-Download Feature for Xbox One

Microsoft has today confirmed that users will be able to play a game while it downloads in the background, potentially meaning the end of long download times for gamers.

During the reveal event for the console in May, Microsoft said that all disc-based titles must be installed to the console anyway, so allowing gamers to play during this process is a positive step for the Xbox One, a console still reeling from an arguably disastrous E3.

This could give it an edge over the PS4 in this respect, as Sony’s console still requires at least a certain portion of the game to be downloaded before you can start playing (at least, for downloaded games).

Could this information have given a better E3 showing for the Xbox One? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
