On the Earthworm Jim Facebook page, the characters creator Doug TenNapel Wrote:

“Everyone loves Earthworm Jim 1 and 2, and I don’t generally acknowledge EWJ 3 as a real part of the Jim universe. So if I was making another Jim game, would it be too confusing to call it Jim 3? Or would it have to be Jim 4? How about “Earthworm Jim 4 the Fans”?”

This was met with a ton of positive feedback with fans seemingly excited for the prospect of a new EWJ game and who can blame them? The Earthowrm Jim series has always been really fun to play with its very out there humor and interesting gameplay so a new one could go down really well since recently a lot of remakes for old titles seem to be cropping up!
