Anyone who is a real gamer knows what Little Big Planet is, a fun platformer game with customizations for online play. But some people have been abusing the online features and trying to push bar for what is acceptable, the news story from News10 can be seen below.
A few things to spot in this report. They refer to Little Big Planet as an kids game, even though it is rated E for everyone. Everyone means, kids, adults, teenagers, girls, boys…everyone! Also the fact that online interactions are not rated is a valid point, and it’s the parents responsibility to know what that means, or find out if they’re not sure. Those letting their children play a game which has no online rating should be wary.
Yet again in seems that video games aren’t being given a break by the mainstream media, a child hearing a dirty word online because his parents weren’t aware of the risks, did nothing to prevent the risks or are ignorant to parental controls is purely the parent’s fault.
What are your views on this? Is it fair to blame gamers or are the parents at fault? Let us know in the comments.
