Ten minutes of Saints Row IV footage from E3 have been released today. The short walkthrough of the games opening moments and later gameplay is narratived by Volition Senior Producer Jim Boone.

The opening minutes of the game have the leader of the saints, now known as the “patron saint of America”, under attack by an alien race known as the Zin.

The second half shows off both the new super-power abilities and cyber-Steelport.

This Saints Row also marks the return of Ben King, a character from the first game played by the late Michael Clarke Duncan, during a time where Saints Row took itself far too seriously for its own good. Even though the Saints Row series has about as much attention as a ritalin junkie, Volition are great at adding in extra details such as this for series veterans.

Saints Row IV is out August 2th in NA and 23rd in the EU on PS3, Xbox 360 and Windows. Australian fans will have to wait a little longer sadly.
