Saints Row IV Banned in Australia

Saints Row IV has received a ban in Australia. The game was refused classification by the board which prohibits the game from being displayed or sold in Australia under the new classification guidelines.

These new guidelines came into effect from January 1, 2013 and 17 other R18+ rated games have been approved since then.

This decision was announced today by the Acting Director of the Classification Board, Donald McDonald. The game was found to have “interactive, visual depictions of implied sexual violence which are not justified by context.” The Board also says the game includes “elements of illicit or proscribed drug use related to incentives or rewards. Such depictions are prohibited under the guidelines.”

CVG have received word from Deep Silver that Volition will be making changes to the game to create an Australia-friendly version.

Saints Row IV is due out later this year in August and hopefully with these new changes, folks in Australia get to play the game too. Let us know what you think with a comment down below.
