OZombie is the new game being brought to you by American McGee and Spicy Horse Games. Their last game Akaneiro: Demon Hunters met its Kickstarter goal and now they are asking for funding for their next project.

American is once again bringing you an interesting and eerie take on a fairytale, The Wizard of OZ.  The game will:

• Feature a variety of perspectives and game modes with an emphasis on role-playing, tactical combat, exploration and story telling.
• Be developed using Unity 3D technology
• Be delivered to most platforms Unity3D can target, but initially launch on Linux, Mac, PC (Windows) and latest-gen tablets.
• Be localized for play world-wide (EFIGS and more).
• Support offline single-player mode, though you’ll need to complete a one-time online registration when you first start.
• Contain NO form of DRM.

As you can see above the game will bring about familiar characters you expect in the World of Oz but with a twist you have not seen before, bringing in a whole new experience to this once bright universe. What American does best.

“While inspired by Baum, our Oz will be a non-conformist version, distinct from both his original, and ALL subsequent adaptations (including American’s Oz project, which Atari killed nearly a decade ago). Honoring Baum’s sublime vision, Oz is a real place, rather than a young girl’s dream. That idea was an MGM invention.“

The game is set to be a full single player experience with a multiplayer mode available once you have completed the single player game. This allows you to play the story driven part of the game which we all know and love from American’s games and then delve into a multiplayer part of the game you might not expect, with tournaments, raids. OZombie will be bigger and more diverse to the games you have seen before by American and his team over at Spicy Horse Games but with a game that is going back to American’s narrative and storytelling roots.

“Following in what’s become a tradition for our games, OZombie will encourage players to explore themes and challenges related to independence, personal identity, coming of age, trust, overcoming adversity, and perseverance.“

What is in this box? They have teased for weeks about this box and that is hold secrets, secrets that you will want to know about. Something that might have something to do with OZombie or Alice.

How can we find out what is in this lovely looking box? 6000. That is the number of backers they must get before they open the box and reveal the goodness which is inside.

“The Box will then be free to choose another owner and to hold a fresh cargo of secrets.“
