According to a corporate document released by Sony, Since February 2013, the number of developers joining them has increased from 126 to a amazing 505! A fair few of these developers are obviously Indie dev’s who prefer the excellent support that the PlayStation 4 is providing in comparison to the Xbox One. The increase from February 2013 is significant as this was the month in which the PlayStation 4 was revealed to the media and the public for the first time, it just goes to further show that dev’s really loved the PS4 from the moment it was first seen.
Sony’s document further revealed:
“Furthermore, from SCE Worldwide Studios, more than 30 titles, including 12 brand new IP, are under development, including Killzone: Shadow Fall, Knack, inFAMOUS: Second Son, #DRIVECLUB and The Order: 1886.*1 Out of over the 30 titles under development, 20 titles will be available within a year from the PS4 launch.”
Some of the new games and developers coming to PS4 include:
Blacklight: Retribution (Zombie) – PS4
Contrast (Compulsion Games) – PS4, PS3
Pinball Arcade (Farsight) – PS4
Warframe (Digital Extremes) – PS4
The PS4 is definitely extremely strong position right now in the console war and despite Microsoft’s attempt at E3 to “wow” developers and gamers alike, it seems that they are losing this battle with both audiences.
