Amazon.co.uk have opened pre-orders for the Xbox One, with a placeholder price tag of £599.99. The product description clearly states that both the price and the release date of 31st December, 2013 are placeholders and that they do not have any information from Microsoft on these details.
The Xbox One comes with Amazon’s Pre-order Price Guarantee i.e. order now and if the Amazon.co.uk price decreases between the time you place your order and the release date, you’ll be charged the lowest price.
Even so, this is the first whiff of news regarding how much the Xbox One could cost and it’s pretty hefty. We can only assume Amazon have set this price as a worst-case scenario based on their analysis of the hardware.
