Age of Conan is 5 years old today and to celebrate in the tradition of other MMOs who have come before it, special in game events are being held for players new and old. Starting on the 23rd of May Hyboria, the world AoC is based on, will be invited by giant boss monsters for 5 days in a row. Everyone can have a crack at these monsters and stand the chance of earning great rewards if the monster is slain.

But the in-game event is just one part of the anniversary celebration. Membership in Age of Conan: Unchained is getting greatly improved. All characters on Member accounts will now receive the Blessing of Asura item, which doubles experience points from killing monsters for one hour per day. They also earn one Alternate Advancement point, which can be spent at level 80 to learn handy abilities, for each level they gain. In addition Members more than triple the amount of Bonus Points they receive each month, which can be spent in the Item Shop, and still of course retain all previous benefits Membership entailed. These are all great reasons to pick up the game during these events or returns to the game if you’re a long time member.

Everyone will also be receiving gifts throughout the celebration period which includes access passes to Khitai, and new land in the east introduced in the Rise of the Godslayer expansion.
