Ubisoft Reaffirms Their Support For Nintendo & Wii U.

Not long ago it was revealed by EA that they currently have no titles in the works for the Wii U. Many saw this as a sign that EA were abandoning the struggling console altogether. Things escalated when EA software engineer Bob Summerwill publicly slated the Wii U on twitter in a number of tweets, two of which you can see below.

Since then there has been a lot of speculation about the future of the Wiii U. However it seems that Ubisoft are still behind the console 100%. When asked by GamesIndustry International if they would be reevaluating their stance on the struggling console, a spokesperson had this to say:

“As with any new console, it takes some time to grow an established base. Ubisoft has a varied and high-quality line-up for Wii U, with more big titles on the way including Rayman Legends, Watch Dogs, Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag and Splinter Cell Blacklist. We’re confident that this will help in continuing to attract gamers to the Wii U system and that Nintendo will take steps to ensure that the Wii U is successful in the market.”

Nintendo isn’t out of the woods yet as potentially losing the support of the world’s third largest gaming company could certainly hurt their future prospects. However they haven’t been thrown to the wolves just yet either.
