Metal Gear Legacy Will Be ‘Too Big’ For The Xbox 360 According To Hideo Kojima

During an online radio show discussing the Legacy Collection (graciously translated by Kotaku), Kojima said “I’m sorry to say an Xbox 360 version isn’t being released, because an Xbox 360 version of MGS4 hasn’t gone on sale. To explain the situation, the amount of data in MGS4 is just too enormous.”

According to Kojima, because of the Xbox 360’s use of DVD as opposed to Blu-Ray, Metal Gear Solid 4 would take up a whopping seven discs if it were released on Xbox 360. Kojima seemed to be open to the possibility of releasing the Legacy collection on the ‘Next Box’ saying “when it’s the next console, maybe we can release it” but said that sadly it simply could not and would not be done on the Xbox 360.

So what do you think? Are you annoyed that Metal Gear Legacy won’t be making its way over to the Xbox 360? Has Microsoft’s decision to back HD DVD over Blu-Ray come back to bite them in their backsides again or is it too late in the console generation to care? Let us know in the comments below.
