A few days ago, Crytek released a press post implying that Monster Hunter Online could be released in the West. However, a new statement from Crytek in response to this says:
“In a press release issued last week, we stated that the upcoming Monster Hunter Online from Tencent Games and Capcom would be released “internationally”. This information was in contrast to official communications from Tencent Games, who only confirmed the release of Monster Hunter Online for the Chinese market at a recent promotional event. As stated by Tencent Games, Monster Hunter Online is only officially confirmed for release in China, and we would like to apologize for any confusion caused by our stating otherwise”
Whoops? While this is sad news it does not mean in any way that Monster Hunter Online is never going to come to the West so fans can still hold on to this. With the recent success of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on Wii U and 3DS this may encourage Tencent Games to localise the game but we cannot know for sure…
