It is never a good day when a company decides to close the doors on permanently. EA has slowly been doing this to there back-catalogue of online games as they put resources from one area to another. Today the latest victim of re-allocating resources was named, The Sims Social.

This award-winning Facebook game created by Playfish will been shut down for good June 14th this year. This was announced today via Facebook. It encourages players with any paid for in-game currency to enjoy it while they can before servers close.

Other games affected by this are SimCity Social and Pet Social. A rather bad day for Sims fans today, especially those who dropped real cash into the series.

This is already a hugely unpopular decision amongst the games fans, throwing more kindling onto the EA hate fire.
