Warner Bros. Montreal has a big task at hand. They will developing the next Batman: Arkham game, following in the footsteps of Rocksteady’s two well-received titles, Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. The game was revealed on the cover of the Game Informer May magazine cover.
The next title in the series will be called Batman: Arkham Origins, however, it isn’t the origin of Batman himself, but the origin of “when Batman meets certain characters and defines some relationships.” The game is due for release on Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Warner Bos. Montreal is said to be using Rocksteady’s modified version of the unreal engine, so the look and feel of the game can be replicated along Warner Bros. Montreal’s flavour being added into the mix. Another title is also under development, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, and will for the Nintendo 3DS and the Playstation Vita. This will be a 2.5D Metroidvania style action game developed by Armature Studio. The most important bit about all this is the release date. Batman Arkham Origins and Batman Arhkan Origins Blackgate are both due for release this year on October 25th.
