Double Fine’s adventure game was one of Kickstarter’s first huge gaming success stories. Dubbed “Double Fine Adventure” the project was to be a point-and-click adventure similar to Tim Schafer’s older games like Grim Fandango. Asking for $400,000 the team instead were given $3.3mil by devoted fans to make the game.

At PAX East details about the game were finally revealed, including its proper name “Broken Age”. According to the games website:

“Broken Age is a point-and-click adventure telling the stories of a young boy and girl leading parallel lives. The girl has been chosen by her village to be sacrificed to a terrible monster–but she decides to fight back. Meanwhile, a boy on a spaceship is living a solitary life under the care of a motherly computer, but he wants to break free to lead adventures and do good in the world.”

The develeopment process is also being filmed by 2 Player Productions who will release videos documenting the games creation from start to finish.

Broken Age is still available to pre-order through the site for $15 including Beta access. For $30 though access to the documentary series will be given along with other development materials.
