Stand Up For GamesAid’s Comedy Night

Today GamesAid announces further details of its forthcoming comedy night, Stand Up for GamesAid. The charity’s inaugural comedy fundraising event will take place at The Comedy Store, London on 15th April 2013 at 8pm. Sponsored by Indigo Pearl PR the event promises to be a barrel of laughs with a number of familiar faces from the world of comedy waiting to tickle your funny bits. Tickets costs £10 or £8 for students and nurses (plus booking fee) and are available now from The Comedy Store website.

Stand Up for GamesAid will be hosted and MC-ed by Imran Yusuf (Best Newcomer nominee at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2010) who began his career in the games industry working for the likes of Midway Games, Eidos and SEGA Europe before departing for the bright lights of showbiz with appearances on The Now Show, The News Quiz and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow.

The evening’s line-up will feature Paul McCaffrey (Russell Howard’s Good News), Prince Abdi (The Wall, Laughter Shock), The Noise Next Door the UK’s premier improv troop, Comedy Store regular Paul Thorne, comedian and musician Kev Orkian and Fosters Edinburgh award winner The Boy With Tape On His Face.

Sponsors Trion Worlds will also be celebrating the Launch of Defiance, their huge multi-format open world online shooter by buying the first 200 drinks from 6.30pm. All the more reason to come along for an evening of fun.

Another guest will be announced on 24th March and, due to expected demand, anyone wanting to purchase tickets should do so now.

All money raised will go direct to GamesAid, a UK computer games industry charity that collects and distributes funds to small UK based charities with a focus on children & young people. All the charities are nominated by & voted for by GamesAid members.
