In an interview with Geoff Keighley on the Spike TV show GT.TV, CEO of Moby Dick Studios, Joakim Mogren, showed off some concept art and screenshots of The Phantom Pain. What was interesting about this was the FOX Engine logo seen in the bottom right corner of two of the screenshots seen below. (Click on them to enlarge)
Now, is this conclusive evidence that Hideo Kojima absolutely is involved with this? Does this definitely tell us that there is an involvement with Metal Gear? Well, Mr Joakim Mogren, in his bandages, did say that he had things to show us at GDC. Kojima Productions have already stated that they will be showing off their Engine and some new information so could this finally be the time where it all comes together? We will have to wait and see.
There are a few other theories flying around the internet too. The guys over at Game Revolution seem to think that Joakim Mogren is actually the legendary developer Cliff Bleszinski. What we do know is this video is sparking off the detectives of the internet once again. Here’s the interview for anyone who hasn’t yet managed to see it.
It is rather interesting that Hideo Kojima’s twitter account only seems to be following 2 people; his Japanese account, and Geoff Keighley. Could this mean anything in relation to this? Mr Mogren was certainly ‘shocked’ when Keighley questioned him about the FOX Engine logo. Leave a comment and let us know what you think of the trailer and if you think this really is Joakim Mogren, CliffyB or perhaps a hired actor by Hideo Kojima.
