Anita Sarkeesian has been a name on many people’s lips for the last nine months since the announcement of her kickstarter project. The project centred around the topic of women in games but little has been heard on the project since it was funded apart from vague reasoning and promises that it will all be worth it.

The fruits of everyones hard earned money will soon be blooming though. Ms Sarkeesian’s kickstarter page has recently announced it will finally launch next week. Further information can be found here but only for those who backed the project.

A controversial feminist figure for her views on women in various forms of media, her latest project came under heavier fire than usual. Many people have a problem with how much money was needed to fund the project when others have done the same without asking for money. Other people just plain hated the woman, going from casual internet hate to straight up misogyny. The reasons are almost countless.

It will be interesting to see what nine months of work culminate into and we hope the conversation around it is well thought out and civil. This may be impossible being the internet, but one can always hope.
