The Last of Us is delayed until 14th June 2013

Naughty Dog’s upcoming game The Last of Us has been delayed until 14th June, according to Sony.

It was previously scheduled to be released on the 7th May but has now been delayed another five weeks, with the new release date set as the worldwide date. Naughty Dog has issued a statement saying:

“As a team we pride ourselves on setting a very high quality bar for every aspect of our games – gameplay, story, art, design, technology and more. We want to make sure The Last of Us raises that bar even further.
As we entered the final phase of development for The Last of Us, we came to realise just how massive Joel and Ellie’s journey is. But instead of cutting corners or compromising our vision, we came to the tough decision that the game deserved a few extra weeks to ensure every detail of The Last of Us was up to Naughty Dog’s internal high standards.”

Look on the bright side though: a delayed game means more time to pre-order it if you haven’t already. There are 2 special editions as well as the standard copy of the game, each with unique bonuses including an artbook, a poster and PSN avatars (dependant on which version you buy).
