According to Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot the next installment of the Assassins Creed franchise will be coming in 2014, and will feature a brand new hero in a new time period. More speficifally it will be released during Ubisoft’s fiscal year, which runs from April 1 2013 to March 31 2014.
“We are delighted and proud to announce today that in financial year ’14, we will introduce an all new Assassin’s Creed hero, within an all new team and time period, and we expect it to be another major leap forward for the franchise. It is the benefit of multiple teams working on multiple chapters of the product, each getting several years to make their versions of an Assassins Creed game.”
Whereas Assassins Creed 2 had a couple of expansion-type games after its release, it seems that Assassins Creed 3 won’t be getting the same treatment. It still hasn’t been revealed what consoles the new game will be appearing on or even which specific teams will be working on the game.
