The Pokémon Company today announced that it is adding Global Battle union (GBU) Wi-Fi tournaments to its video game series season. This will make it much easier for players of the Pokémon video games to become Pokémon pro’s!
The next big event is the VGCS Winter Battles taking place from December 13th to the 17th. The top players of the Wi-Fi competitions will earn special places at live tournaments as well as earning championship points which will get them closer to potentially earning invites to the 2013 Pokémon World championships, hosted this year in Vancouver!
Players wishing to compete in the Winter Battles can register HERE between Wednesday December 5th and Thursday December 13th (until 11:59pm GMT) with the battles starting from that point onwards. As an added incentive for players to not disconnect from their battles, Pokémon Trainers who stick out most of their matches will be given special in game items!
J.C. Smith, director of Consumer Marketing for The Pokémon Company International commented, “By Incorporating Wi-Fi tournaments into the European Play, Pokémon Video Game Championships Series provides opportunities for players to battle more often, the upcoming GBU Wi-Fi Competitions are an easy way to battle competitively and take a step down the road to the Pokémon World Championships.”
Remember, players wishing to compete need a copy of the Pokémon Black 2 or Pokémon White 2 video game, a Pokémon Trainer Club account, a Nintendo DS or Nintendo 3DS system, and broadband Internet access!
