Xbox 360 will take a step ahead of the Nintendo Wii as the UK’s best-selling console according to GfK Chart-Track. This will make the Xbox 360 this generation’s highest selling home console on our little island.

The Xbox 360 has sold 8.4 million consoles in the UK and in the next few days will overtake the Wii to make it the country’s best-seller.

Harvey Eagle, Director of Xbox and Entertainment told MCV that “this is an historic milestone and our sincere thanks goes to each and every person that has bought and enjoyed Xbox 360 over the past eight years.”

Microsoft can only hope that the Xbox One has the same success as the Xbox 360, but with a bit of a shaky start even before its release, this might be a slight problem. However, since Microsoft has gone back on their DRM and No Offline features, fans have once again started to turn back to Microsoft.
