VGU Talks: The Evil Within Lacks Horror

by on April 14, 2014

As they played the game over the period of PAX East, IGN’s associate editor Mitch Dyer has posted an recent article detailing The Evil Within. The new horror game by Tango Gameworks, with developers from the original Resident Evil titles, has been criticised for creating a silent protagonist in a genre that needs sound. As the game looks stunning and will have the opportunity to scare the player, since the character lacks any fear and emotion the game therefore lacks in horror.

As gamers have started discussing on twitter and other social channels about the games situation, I thought I would throw my opinion into the mix. Check out my thoughts in the video below.

What do you think of The Evil Within? Do you believe it still has potential or are you worried that it is heading towards action rather than horror? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
