Two Scenes In Beyond: Two Souls Edited For European Release

Two scenes from Quantic Dreams Beyond: Two Souls have been edited to reach standards for a PEGI 16 rating. Alexander Ross confirmed this via the EU Playstation Blog, stating:

“There are only two amends between the EU and US versions of the game, amounting to about 5-10 seconds of gameplay that’s not been removed, just edited slightly to be in line with a PEGI 16 rating.”

Ross claimed the reason for this change was so the game could reach as large an audience as possible, not wanting to loss sales due to an 18+ rating. He stressed the changes were “minimal” and “you wouldn’t even notice“. An edit is better than removal, but it would be interesting to know what was edited and why. If these changes truly are that small, we may never know.

Beyond: Two Souls will release exclusively on the PS3 October 8 in NA and October 11 in EU.

What do you think? Are you OK with the changes, or would you like to play the game sans edits? Let us know in the comments.
