Sony Has No Current Plans to Release PS Vita TV Outside Asia

Speaking to Asian industry site Tech-On, Sony have explained that there are currently no plans to bring the PS Vita TV to non-asian markets. Explaining that in Japan there is currently no leading company when it comes to video-streaming, the PS Vita TV has been released early in Japan to capitalise on it’s strengths. Since the US and EU have devices such as Chromecast and Ouya which can offer similar experiences for video-streaming, there have been no plans so far to expand the PS Vita TV outside of Asia.

This however is not to say that non Asian countries won’t be getting the device, as Shuhei Yoshida, president of SCE, stated via twitterwe are just saying “PS Vita TV releasing first in Japan”‘ With the PS Vita TV already having sold out on Amazon Japan, the device’s future is looking promising and European and American markets may still see it be released in the micro-consoles future.
