Neverland, the developer of the Harvest Moon spin off Rune Factory, has closed down operations this week.

The Japanese developer announced its bankruptcy over their official site which has been translated via Siliconera. Reasons noted seem to be that “performance has been sluggish due to changes in the business environment in recent years, and that their financial status has deteriorated considerably.”

Rune Factory are a series of RPG’s based around farming, fishing and fighting monsters. The games were released across the Wii, DS, 3DS and PS3.
