PS4 and Xbox One Controllers Available For Pre-Order

Once you get a next-gen console suddenly everyone wants to be your friend, finding any excuse to come over and bask in the glory of the future. To prepare for this you can now pre-order additional controllers for both the PS4 and Xbox One.

Xbox One controllers are now available on the Microsoft store, along with some other Xbox One peripherals. All of the products are only priced on the American version with a release date of 12/31/2013, while the European version has no date nor price. Firstly, the standard controller will set you back $59.99. For an extra $24.99 you can get that with the Xbox One Play and Charge Kit which comes with rechargeable battery and charger cable. If you want to save on postage and packaging however you can buy both bundled together for $74.99. Finally you can also buy the new sleekly designed Xbox One Chat Headset for $24.99.

Seems buying the Xbox One with all the trimmings will run you up an extra $100, which may be worth it if you have a friend or sibling you want to play with.

The PS4 controller is currently listed on Amazon for £54.99 / $59.96 without anything else to faff around with. While this may sound a little lacking next to the plethora of options for the Xbox One, fret not. Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida posted thos on twitter.:

While the PS Vita will not be able to be used as a controller unless specifically designed, it gives another future use to the Sony handheld. Hopefully with the new push for multi-surface gaming a few devs can find a good way to fit the PS Vita into the living room.

What do you think? Are Microsoft’s prices too high for a system already $100 more expensive than the competition? Should Sony make a bigger push to use the PS Vita? Let us know in the comments.
