Next Assassin’s Creed set in Renaissance France

Leaked screen of shots the new Assassin’s Creed game (Unity as its working title) shows the title is partially set in 18th century Paris, according to Kotaku.

The screen shots show Unity’s new assassin in what looks to be Paris, with the Notre Dame, the Seine River and other Parisian landmarks visible. This appears to be one of the two Assassin’s Creed titles that were announced to appear later this year, confirmed by numerous sources. Unity will be a next-gen game for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox one, whilst another will be released for the Xbox 360 and PS3.1

The two games have yet to be confirmed by Ubisoft themselves, but conversations with developer sources have backed the rumours. There has been an Assassin’s Creed title released every autumn since 2009, this will be the first time the developer releases two.

Rumours from NeoGAF and Examiner tell that Unity will be set during the French Revolution, starring new assassin Arno. Last month Assassin’s Creed producer Jade Raymond said the newest instalment to the franchise would be set during her “favourite historical era,” but gave little else away.3
