Were you a fan of Rollercoaster Tycoon or Theme Park World when you were younger? Then check out the latest in rollercoaster and theme park builders. Pantera Entertainment are proud to announce Theme Park Studio, an "advanced theme park and rollercoaster builder for PC". It's already been in development for several months and Pantera plan to launch a crowd funding campaign via Kickstarter with the goal of releasing the title this fall. Already excited? Well keep reading!
Theme Park Studio features a powerful set of tools that allows players to build theme parks, including a robust coaster edition that is both easy to use and flexible, allowing you to create a park and rollercoaster of your own monstrous design. Rails can be bent, twisted and shaped into almost any shape imaginable, and there are even prefabricated templates with click-and-drop designs. Players also have the opportunity to create unique custom rides or select from an extensive library of pre-built ones, and the park can be landscaped using custom scenery importing and advanced vegetation solutions.
The game comes complete with a full particle effects editor which delivers amazing and realistic 3D visuals - take advantage of this when you've opened your park and watch guests tour and enjoy your rides.
"It began as a project we wanted to buid for the community, especially now that the future of other theme park franchises is in doubt" says Steve Fielding, president of Pantera Entertainment. "Our idea was to integrate our tools and technology into one massively powerful theme park creator that gives fans the unprecedented control of their designs and creations. We had a great engine and a sophisticated set of tools we had been using for internal development, and we love designing roller coasters and theme parks, so this was a great way to release a product that packs a real punch."
This appears to have been a very good idea, with early feedback on the game being extremely positive, with comments such as "Theme Park Studio should make a lot of Roller Coaster Tycoon fans very happy as well as breathing new life into the theme park and roller coaster sim market" (George Taylor, Micechat.com) The Kickstarter campaign has launched and currently stands at $13, 168 of $80,000 funded with 36 days to go. Pledge rewards range from early access to the game to a Theme Park Studio t-shirt and poster.
In the meantime make sure you take a look at some screenshots and early renders below.
