Harmonix Ends Weekly Rock Band DLC After 5 Years

While rhythm games aren't as popular as they used to be that never stopped Harmonix from releasing new content every week for their game. The music however will soon stop. Today Harmonix announced they will be ending their weekly DLC releases that have given fans more than 4,000 songs over the last 275 weeks. That is a huge library of songs to choose from, and a hefty amount of cash for anyone who wants them all.

The final encore will be April 2. Hopefully Harmonix will release something appropriate as the curtains fall. Until then 1,100 songs on the Rock Band library are on sale allowing fans to raid the shop for their favourite songs.

The end of the run has been due to changing resources at Harmonix as they focus on other projects. We hope them best of luck in their future endeavours.

Amateur narratologist, or perhaps just a gamer who focuses too much on the story. I love games and the experiences they afford. I then enjoy ripping them apart for every error and mistake they make while trying to entertain me.
