Zombies just keep appearing everywhere. This time Capcom have confirmed that Resident Evil Revelations, previously released on the Nintendo 3DS, will release at retail for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii U across America and Europe on May 24th 2013. The title will also be available for PC and PS3 digital download for approximately £31.55 on May 21st 2013 with digital versions for Xbox 360 and Wii U to follow. You can view the announcement trailer below.
The fear that gripped fans through the Nintendo 3DS has been redefined for home consoles complete with HD visuals, enhanced lighting effects and an immersive sound experience. Furthermore this version will deliver more content including a terrifying new enemy, extra difficulty mode and improvements to Raid mode such as new weapons, skill sets and the opportunity to play as the seemingly-invincible Hunk as well as other key characters from the series. Yes that's right, Hunk, Chris and Jill will all be making an appearance on our consoles in May. Have a look at the designs for each of these iconic characters.
For those unfamiliar with Raid mode, it is an online mode with the options of co-op or single player and sees players taking down hordes of enemies across a variety of missions whilst leveling up characters and earning weapon upgrades.
Resident Evil Revelations takes place inbetween Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, revealing the truth about the T-Abyss virus. It features seasoned zombie-killers Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, as well as their respective BSAA partners Parker Luciani and Jessica Sherawat, and features the limited ammo and weapons that made the Resident Evil games so scary. It will take full advantage of Residentevil.net, with content available to users once the game launches. Players can pre-register on the service from January 24th to gain early access to Resident Evil Revelations themed content and information on future events closer to the release.
As said above Resident Evil Revelations will make its way to home consoles between the 21st-24th May 2013. In the meantime have a look at the screens to keep you satisfied, and maybe play over some of the older games to hone your zombie-killing skills in the meantime. Excited by the news?
