Need For Speed Debut Movie Trailer Is Seriously Over-Dramatic

The first we heard about the Need For Speed movie was when Aaron Paul walked on stage at this years E3 to announce it. While we didn’t get the Breaking Bad style meth cooking simulator we all wanted, it could have been much worse. At least with a solid actor like Paul at the helm, things could end up being entertaining cheesy. With first Need For Speed trailer however seems to be going in a completely different direction.

I’m sure we can all love a bit of over-dramatic goodness, Pacific Rim’s marketing seemed centered around that idea, but so far Need For Speed has gone one step beyond. While you can’t judge a movie from its trailers, hopefully the film will tone it down a few notches. Directed by Scott Waugh, the movies description seems rather rather bare-bones. :

“Framed for a crime he didn’t commit, muscle car mechanic and street racer Tobey (Aaron Paul) gets out of prison determined to settle the score with the man responsible for his false conviction.”

What can one expect from a game series with no plot howver. The film itself looks entertaining enough though, and will be released March 14 2014. On a more personal note, I expected the films debut to include dubstep, so kudos for subverting expectations.

What do you think? Is it too dramatic or does it include enough cheese to please you? Let us know in the comments.
