Mortal Kombat X Coming to Mobile Devices

In yet more Mortal Kombat news coming from NetherRealm, the latest installment in the Mortal Kombat series is coming to mobile devices, probably around the same time as the console launch. The graphics for this version have had a noticeable visual downgrade and Fatalities now involve players just swiping on the touch screen, but at least you can rip peoples’ spines out on your commute to work.

No news on whether there will be a port of Mortal Kombat X to dedicated portable gaming devices like the Playstation Vita, especially after Mortal Kombat 9 had a decent version on the system. Being able to play Mortal Kombat on the go using a proper control scheme would be nice, rather than simply swiping on a screen like a madman but I suppose some sort of portable version is better than no portable version. It is safe to assume that this version of Mortal Kombat X will be very similar to the mobile port of Injustice: Gods Among Us so if you liked that, you’ll no doubt get your money’s worth with this.

Expect a release date, pricing details and news about any cross version goodies in the near future and you may see a Mortal Kombat X port for calculators and the Ouya very soon. Check out the reveal trailer below and look out for more Mortal Kombat news as we barrel towards the April release.
