Mad Max Gameplay Reveal Trailer Leaves No Hope

Avalanche Studios for once is going for a more serious tone with their rendition of the post-apocalyptic outback. Yes Mad Max is Australian, even if the two previous trailers didn’t give that away in the slightest.

While it may have lacked color, the graphics looked fantastic. One nice detail was how the violence is being handled. Much like the Last of Us, Mad Max is set in a world where violence isn’t flashy but quick and brutal. The small moments of hand to hand combat seemed horrid and didn’t seem to hold back in the least.

The world itself looks very similar to the Martian terrain of Red Fact: Guerilla. Hopefully Avalanche can spice things up somehow in the time they have until release.

Mad Max is out next year on PS3, Xbox 360 and Windows as well as the next-gen PS4 and Xbox One.

What do you think? Do you like the prospect of exploring a desperate world on its last breathes? Let us know in the comments.
