Incoming PS4 Update Introduces ShareFactory and Pre-Loaded Games

A major software update, 1.70, is on the way for PS4 owners, and it’s bringing with it some nifty new features.

The first big addition introduced in the update is ShareFactory, a rich video editor allowing you to customise your recorded gameplay videos. Similar to the type of free editing software you get on PC, ShareFactory will allow you to pull together multiple clips and add filters, transitions and special effects. You can also personalise the videos a little more by adding text, audio tracks and video commentary. As an added bonus, as the name suggests, you can also share your creations with your friends via social networking sites, or upload them to a USB to show off wherever you go.

The next feature on the way is the ability to pre-download games. Players who pre-order titles will get the chance to download them a few days before their release date, to make the wait a little less painful when the big day finally rolls around. If you happen to have auto-download enabled, you don’t even have to lift a finger to do it, as your PS4 will download the game as soon as it is available to do so.

These updates are a result of the feedback from users on their PS4 experience, and Sony stress that they are continuing to listen to what their players want. With the promise that the PS4 will continue to evolve as time goes on, it looks like things are just going to keep getting better for Sony fans.
